Memorial bike ride held for man killed trying to stop robbery

WASHINGTON, Pa. — The family of a man killed while trying to stop a robbery in South Strabane Township last June is keeping his memory alive.

A memorial bike ride was held Saturday for Vincent Kelley, 46, who was fatally shot outside the South Strabane Giant Eagle while police said he tried to stop a robbery at the store's Citizens Bank branch.

No arrests have been made in the case.

Saturday's ride began at the Pancake Skate 'N' Whirl in Washington and ended at the American Legion in Houston.

The Kelley family is donating all proceeds from the ride to the families of Dillon Gregg and Joe Bowland, two friends who were killed last year in a car accident in Smith Township.

Each year, the Kelley family plans to choose another family to donate proceeds from the ride to.
