Mother searching for answers 17 years after daughter's death

McKEESPORT, Pa. — More than a decade later, a mother is continuing her mission to find out how her 14-year-old daughter's life ended.

Jeanie Krimm's daughter, Kimberlie Krimm, was found dead near a cemetery in 1998 after disappearing days before, on June 30.

"I need to keep her out there somehow," said Jeanie Krimm, who has been searching for answers ever since. The 17th anniversary of when her daughter's body was found is Monday.

Jeanie Krimm told Channel 11's Courtney Brennan that, perhaps, whoever killed her daughter didn't mean to. But she's desperate to find the person responsible.

"She was definitely murdered," said Jeanie Krimm. "I want to believe whoever killed Kimmie did it accidentally."

Kimberlie Krimm never returned home after going to visit a friend and buy some hair dye.

"I will never stop searching, and that's why I keep her Facebook page going," said Jeanie Krimm. "You have to get on with your life, but don't ever give up the search for her killer. I never will."

Jeanie Krimm told Brennan that she thinks her daughter died in vain.

"She was the first of many murders in McKeesport and even though she didn't die of a gunshot wound, her and many others are still unsolved," she said.

Kimberlie Krimm's death was never officially classified as a homicide because her body was badly decayed.
