New Galilee man accused of raping 12-year-old girl

NEW GALILEE — Police have arrested a New Galilee man and charged him in the rape of a then 12-year-old girl.

Investigators said Shawn Cox raped the child three times in 2007.

Cox faces several charges, including rape of a child and corruption of minors.

Police said the investigation was delayed by several years because the girl was infatuated with Cox and didn't want him to be prosecuted.
