Pennsylvania American Water issued a $7.10 credit to customer accounts on Oct. 12, marking its fourth distribution from settlements with manufacturers of PFAS.

The latest credit brings the total PFAS-related settlement refunds to nearly $44 per customer. The accumulated credits equal about 15 days of water service for a typical residential customer.

Pennsylvania American Water officials say the company remains in compliance with all drinking water standards for PFAS. The utility company has also finished treatment upgrades in several communities.

The utility plans to invest approximately $321 million in PFAS treatment projects across Pennsylvania through 2030.
