Pennsylvanians driving to Ohio for cheaper gas

PITTSBURGH — With a new gas tax going into effect Thursday, some Pennsylvanians have begun to head over the state border into Ohio for cheaper gas.

The new gas tax will add 10 cents to current prices to help pay for road projects.

Those living in Mercer County only have a 15-minute drive across the border to save 50 cents a gallon in Ohio.

In Hermitage and Sharon, Pennsylvania, a gallon of regular is $2.65. Meanwhile in nearby Hubbard, Ohio, the average is just $2.09.
