Pittsburgh-area business owner offers robber cash and a beer

CLAIRTON, Pa. — Police in Clairton are searching for the person who robbed a beer distributor at gunpoint.

Owner Jack Chottiner of Clairton Beer Distributor told Channel 11's Steven Fisher the robber pointed a gun at him and demanded money.

“I pulled out my wallet and said ‘Here whatever you want, take out of my wallet,’” he said. Chottiner didn’t stop there.

“I actually offered him beer.”

The robber refused and left after taking the money.

Chottiner said his store’s surveillance system is not working, but he was able to give a details description of the man’s clothing to police.

“He had black and gold gloves on and black and gold socks…steelers socks,” Chottiner said.
