Pittsburgh police: Homicide charges filed after man found shot dead in street; Victim identified

PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh police have made an arrest in the fatal shooting of a man found Wednesday morning in the city’s Marshall-Shadeland neighborhood.

Jason Woodall, 29, was arrested overnight, according to Pittsburgh Public Safety.

Woodall was arrested for the murder of Mieko Devaughn.

He is charged with criminal homicide, various firearm violations and robbery.

Pittsburgh police are investigating a fatal shooting after a man was found dead in the street.

Police were called to the 2400 block of Sorrell Street in the city’s Marshall-Shadeland neighborhood around 5:30 a.m. They found an unconscious male with a gunshot wound to the head.

Medics pronounced him dead at the scene.

A single shell casing was found next to the man, according to a Pittsburgh Public Safety spokesman.

A Pittsburgh police officer at the scene said the incident was being investigated as a homicide.
