Police: Man shot, killed wife in home 2 weeks after assaulting, biting her

NORTH STRABANE TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Police said they arrested and charged a North Strabane man in the shooting death of his wife.

Investigators said Louise Weis-Edmonds was shot in the head inside her Victoria Drive home Tuesday night.

Police later arrested Scott Edmonds, 50, and charged him with homicide and tampering with evidence.

Channel 11's Cara Sapida reported that two weeks ago Scott Edmonds was charged in a domestic dispute, where police say he assaulted and bit his wife.

"There is a past history of domestic violence with this victim," said detective John Wybranowski.

Police said Scott Edmunds punched Louise Weis-Edmonds in the eye and had his hands around her neck because he didn't like her resume two years ago.

There were 158 domestic violence deaths in Pennsylvania last year, the Domestic Violence Services said.
