FALLOWFIELD TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A portion of Route 481 in Fallowfield Township is scheduled to close for railroad maintenance beginning Monday, weather permitting.
The closure will affect the stretch of road between Wertz Way and Route 2025 (Coyle Curtain Road).
The maintenance is being performed by the Wheeling and Lake Erie Railroad company.
The work is scheduled to continue through early May.
A posted detour will be in place to guide motorists around the closed section of the roadway. The designated route uses Route 2025 (Coyle Curtain Road), Route 88, First Street, the Lincoln Avenue Extension and Route 2016 (Old 71).
Drivers are advised to stay alert and exercise caution when traveling near the work zone. PennDOT reminded the public that safety is a shared responsibility and urged motorists to be courteous to workers and other drivers during the project.
