Earlier Monday, crime scene investigators wheeled Ferrante’s personal safe into the courtroom. The contents of that safe remain unknown. Prosecutors also brought to court a pair of Mac Air Books and two iPhones, each belonging to Ferrante and his wife Dr. Autumn Klein.

According to police Klein died from a lethal dose of cyanide, overnighted to Ferrante’s University of Pittsburgh laboratory, two days before her death.

Detective Jim McGhee told jurors that when he asked Ferrante about his wife’s death, Ferrante said, “why would she do this to herself? Why would someone do this to her?”

Jennings will remain inside the courtroom for the duration of this trial. Watch for continuing coverage on Channel 11 News and right here on wpxi.com.
