Police make arrest in Ambridge bank robbery

AMBRIDGE, Pa. — Police arrested a man accused of robbing an Ambridge bank Friday afternoon.

According to authorities, Paul Carman entered the Huntington Bank on Merchant Street about 1 p.m. He then apologized to the teller before taking off with an undisclosed amount of money, which he allegedly used to pay off a drug dealer, police said.

Carman then changed his clothes before he and his girlfriend called a friend for a ride, authorities said.

Police later caught up with the vehicle and took Carman into custody.
