BRIDGEVILLE, Pa.,None — Parents of children at Chartiers Primary School are getting letters about students sick with walking pneumonia.
Officials from the school confirmed a few cases have been reported at the school in Bridgeville and they are sending home a letter as a precaution.
The letter informs parents that the cases do not indicate poor air quality and that children with persistent coughing should see a doctor. It also encourages good hand-washing.
Officials said walking pneumonia isn’t as easily spread as other illnesses. Signs and symptoms include flu-like fever and chills, a sore throat, headaches, fatigue and labored breathing.
