Sidney Crosby named Penguins MVP for the third year in a row

PITTSBURGH — Sidney Crosby has been named the winner of the PPG Most Valuable Player Award for the third year in a row.

This is Crosby’s 11th time winning the team’s MVP award. If he wins the award one more time he will tie Mario Lemieux for the most in the team’s history.

He is also the winner of UPMC’s Players’ Player Award. Kris Letang and Jason Zucker were also recipients of that award. This is Crosby’s fifth time winning the award and Letang and Zucker’s first.

P.O Joseph, 23, was also recognized during the 2023 round of awards. He was named Rookie of the Year. Joseph reached career highs this year with five goals, 16 assists and 21 points in 73 games.
