SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. — A cheese manufacturer in Slippery Rock is accused of selling imitation cheeses as "real," according to Channel 11's news exchange partners at TribLIVE.
Universal Cheese & Drying Inc. and International Packing LLC are charged with conspiring to commit offenses against the United States, TribLIVE reported. Federal prosecutors claim imitation Parmesan and Romano cheeses were sold as "real" versions.

An attorney told TribLIVE that the companies have fully cooperated with the Food and Drug Administration to remedy problems with the mislabeled cheese.
