Steelers host former starting left tackle for visit

The Pittsburgh Steelers hosted free agent Austin Deculus for a visit to UPMC Rooney Sports Complex on Tuesday, Sept. 15, according to the NFL transactions page.

Deculus, 27, is in his fifth professional season. He was most recently with the Tennessee Titans throughout training camp and the preseason, but was released on Aug. 31.

Originally a sixth-round pick of the Houston Texans in the 2022 NFL Draft, the 6-foot-5, 330-pound Deculus has been with five NFL teams in five years.

He has played the most with the Texans, where he appeared in five games as a rookie and seven in 2023, when he made his first career start against the Steelers in Week 4. The Texans put Deculus on waivers on Nov. 11, 2023 and he was claimed by the New York Jets.
