CASTLE SHANNON, Pa. — A busy Castle Shannon road was briefly shut down during the Tuesday morning commute when a semi got stuck beneath a railroad trestle.
The Castle Shannon Police Department says the incident happened on Route 88 (Library Road) at Castle Shannon Boulevard just after 8 a.m. A tractor-trailer hit a railroad trestle that carries trains over Route 88.
Police say no one was hurt in the crash, but the tractor-trailer got stuck against a concrete abutment, causing a temporary traffic disruption on Route 88.
The roadway has since reopened in both directions. Police say the truck driver will be cited for this incident.
Inspectors will conduct a safety assessment of the trestle structure.
