Woman shot, killed in Homewood

PITTSBURGH — A woman was shot and killed in Homewood on Tuesday.

A Pittsburgh Police public information officer said emergency crews were called to the 7200 block of Frankstown Avenue at 6:30 p.m.

A ShotSpotter recorded a total of 20 rounds fired along the border between the city’s Homewood North and South neighborhoods.

Police found a woman who had been shot multiple times, including in the head, on Forest Way. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers are recovering shell casings and reviewing surveillance footage.

At this time, no arrests have been made.
