BRONX, NY — A New York woman is $2 million richer thanks to the numbers she received on a fortune cookie.
Emma Duvoll, 75, used the numbers she found inside a fortune cookie to pick the numbers on her Powerball ticket.
Five of those numbers matched the winning draw, and the woman from the Bronx won $2 million.
The new multi-millionaire said she probably isn’t the first to try the cookie strategy – but she’s glad it worked.
“I think some people have done it before,” she said. “But I don’t know (if they won).”
Duvoll said she plans on investing most of her winnings, and using some to visit family in Switzerland.
