LIGONIER, Pa.,None — A Texas man accused of gunning down a fellow patron at a Ligonier restaurant, possibly in a dispute over what to watch on the bar's television, was ordered to stand trial on Friday.
Stephen Paul Fromholz, 40, of San Antonio, was arrested moments after he fatally shot Donald Holler inside Fat Daddy's Pub and Grill last month.
Ligonier Borough Police Chief John Berger said two other patrons restrained Fromholz until police arrived.
Berger said witnesses reported Fromholz and Holler had quarreled over the TV and Fromholz went outside and returned with a semiautomatic rifle.
The Westmoreland County coroner said Holler suffered a gunshot wound to the back.
Authorities said some people in the restaurant sought cover in a cooler and others ran to a nearby house.
Police say Fromholz didn't explain why a disagreement over a TV drove him to kill Holler. When officers arrested him, they said Fromholz said, "I shot the guy." Police said Fromholz then asked an officer to shoot him.
There is no word on when Fromholz's trial will begin.
