Man killed at Fourth of July BBQ in Homewood

PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh Police confirmed to Channel 11 News that a man was shot and killed Friday afternoon at a Fourth of July barbecue in Homewood.

The fatal shooting occurred in the 7700 block of Tioga Street.

Police said that a 31-year-old man was gunned down inside his residence while the barbecue was happening in his backyard.

BBQ attendees were unable to give a clear description of the gunman, who fled the house on foot. Police continued to search for the gunman in the hours after the shooting. As of late Friday night, however, there was no word of an arrest.
