PITTSBURGH — The knitted blankets that covered the Andy Warhol Bridge last August and have since been washed and donated to charity.
The yarn that covered the railings has been used to make scares for the over 100 men who live at the YMCA shelter.
The scarves will be given to the men at their annual Thanksgiving dinner.
“We like to surprise them with nice things,” said Dexter Hairston of YMCA about the 150 residents.
Artists and children from the YMCA helped make some of the blankets that covered the Andy Warhol Bridge this summer for the "Knit the Bridge" project.
