PITTSBURGH,None — Pittsburgh Mayor Luke Ravenstahl's nearly seven-year marriage to his high school sweetheart is over.
Ravenstahl's wife, Erin, filed for divorce in March and an Allegheny County judge signed off on a decree Thursday.
Erin Ravenstahl wants alimony and child support on behalf of their son, who will be 3 in October, but the court papers don't detail any property settlement.
The 31-year-old mayor announced the couple were separating in November 2009, three weeks after he was elected to a full four-year term, and later said his wife was uncomfortable in the limelight.
Ravenstahl became mayor in September 2006, because he was City Council president when Mayor Bob O'Connor died of brain cancer.
Ravenstahl finished O'Connor's term before running for re-election.
Erin and Luke met at North Catholic High School and were married in 2004.
