Meadows Racetrack & Casino To Open Table Games July 8

WASHINGTON, Pa.,None — Officials from The Meadows Racetrack & Casino announced Tuesday that they will open their table games floor and poker room at 6 a.m., July 8 following a brief ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Opening is contingent upon a successful testing of the casino and final approval by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board. The testing will take place during a charity event to benefit the United Way of Washington County from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesday, July 6.

"We're looking forward to cutting that ribbon," said Meadows Vice President and General Manager Sean Sullivan. "When we do, our guests will have still another reason to visit our full-entertainment destination."

The Meadows features 3,500 slot machines, restaurants with great views of the gaming floor and the racetrack, a new racing grandstand, simulcast area, VIP super boxes and an all-ages bowling center.

This summer, The Meadows launched its first-ever outdoor concert series, featuring Grammy Award winner Peter Frampton, Yes, Bobby Vinton and Willie Nelson.

The Meadows will add 68 table games in all, including blackjack, roulette, craps, big six wheel, mini baccarat, three card poker and pai gow poker in the main area of the gaming floor.

Located on the racebook level, The Meadows features a state-of-the-art poker room with an automated player-reservation system and shuffling machines. The room is spacious at 9,800 square feet and includes 26 tables. There is a full-service bar and a food service area inside the entrance.

A wide variety of limit and no-limit games is offered in Texas Hold'em, Omaha and 7-Card Stud.

Daily tournaments with modest buy-ins, ranging from $40 to $150, will be held twice a day. Major tournaments will be staged on a quarterly basis and Bad Beat Jackpot will be provided in the near future.
