PITTSBURGH,None — The National Football League's lockout is drawing a lot of talk from frustrated football players.
In a controversial interview with Yahoo Sports earlier this week, Vikings running back Adrian Peterson compared playing in the NFL to "modern day slavery."
Steelers' running back Rashard Mendenhall defended Peterson's comments with a controversial statement of his own.
Via the online social networking website, Twitter, Mendenhall said, "Anyone with knowledge of the slave trade and the NFL could say that these two parallel each other."
NFL owners and players could not reach a collective bargaining agreement by last week's deadline. This resulted in the league's first work stoppage since 1987.
