PITTSBURGH — Forget the huge heart-shaped boxes of pricey chocolate.
Clark Bars are returning for Valentine’s Day and the Altoona company that owns the brand plans to spread the love.
“We will be releasing Clark Bars in Pittsburgh this Friday,” Anthony Forgione, Boyer Candy Co. CEO , said via email on Monday.“We are also giving out free bars in several locations in Pittsburgh on Valentine’s Day.”
Boyer has been producing the chocolate covered peanut butter crunch candy originally developed in Pittsburgh for a few months but, due to packaging delays, Clark Bars were sold in clear cellophane wrappers at the company’s factory outlet store. But most stores in southwestern Pennsylvania have been without the treat for more than a year.
