SPRING LAKE, Mich. — When people hear that one Michigan doctor is a “doggie dentist,” they jokingly ask if he puts braces on dogs too.
But that’s no joke.

Dr. Jim Moore has helped align the teeth of pups using braces that resemble the ones you probably wore as a teenager.
Harborfront Hospital for Animals posted photos of Dr. Moore's work to their Facebook page and they feature a dog named Wesley who could not close his mouth completely. After putting brackets on his top teeth, Wesley is now working to get his perfect smile.
The hospital also said that Dr. Moore does endodontics (root canals, often necessary because of pain) and oral surgery (things like fractured jaws) to help out his four-legged patients.
February is National Pet Dental Health month, so the hospital thought this was a good time to share the importance of your dog's dental health.
