PITTSBURGH — On the day postseason tickets went on sale for Pirates fans, Pirate Parrot spent his day visiting with the youngest Bucs fans at West Penn Hospital.
Six lucky newborn babies, all less than two days old, were visited by Pirate Parrot Monday. The babies wore pink and blue Pirates hats, as well as Pittsburgh Pirates bibs.
The hospital’s nursery itself was decorated in black and gold to support the third consecutive “Buctober” playoff run.
“This was definitely unexpected,” said Jerome Link. “It’s pretty cool.”
More than 6,000 babies are expected to be born at West Penn Hospital in 2015.
