Tune into WPXI for ‘Flashes of Freedom’ on July 4

Live from Pittsburgh’s riverbanks, Channel 11 will be giving viewers a front row seat to the annual EQT “Flashes of Freedom” fireworks display this July 4. WPXI-TV Channel 11 news anchors Joe Arena and Katherine Amenta will host the spectacular coverage from 8:00-10:00 p.m. The coverage will also stream live on WPXI.com from 8:00-10:00 p.m., along with encores airing on PCNC on July 4 at 11:00 p.m. - 1:00 a.m. and on Sunday, July 5 from 8:00-10:00 p.m.

Fireworks are one of the many fun parts of spending Independence Day in Pittsburgh. From honoring our military to checking out the festivities at the EQT Pittsburgh Three Rivers Regatta, WPXI will show viewers the sights and sounds of patriotism here in Pittsburgh in a two-hour special. Pyrotecnico, an international, award-winning fireworks and special effects company based in New Castle, will be putting on the dazzling display over the steel city. The fireworks will be captured from numerous camera angles in glorious high definition from the ground and sky, giving WPXI viewers the best seat in the house.

After continuous years of amazing displays, Pittsburgh’s official 4th of July celebration has become famous for its pageantry and power. A regatta tradition and a western Pennsylvania favorite, thousands travel out to Pittsburgh’s riverbanks for this display every year, making it one of the top 10 fireworks displays in the nation. The EQT “Flashes of Freedom” fireworks display takes pride in its showmanship, mesmerizing effects and crowd-pleasing performance.

As in years past, the “Flashes of Freedom” show pays tribute to all of our men and women in uniform (military, fire fighter, police, EMT) complete with shell and music selections individually chosen and arranged to accentuate their honor.

Tune in for the EQT “Flashes of Freedom” fireworks display on WPXI-TV and WPXI.com from 8:00-10:00 p.m. with encores aired on PCNC on July 4 at 11:00 p.m. - 1:00 a.m. and on July 5 from 8:00-10:00 p.m.
