PITTSBURGH,None — Allegheny County sheriff's deputies said a man attempted to smuggle a flare gun into the Allegheny County Courthouse on Monday.
Gene Fenderson, 47, of Pittsburgh was charged with one count of possession of a firearm or other dangerous weapons in a court facility after deputies said they found the gun strapped to his ankle.
Police said they also found a set of handcuffs and a handcuff key on Fenderson.
Fenderson told investigators that he was attempting to visit the Sheriff's Office to inquire about a civil matter.
