ALLEGHENY TOWNSHIP, Pa.,None — Police in Allegheny Township said a man was attacked with a stun gun by a man who was wearing a zombie mask on Friday night.
According to officers, the attack happened at the Melwood Pool Apartments. Police said the victim went to Darob Wright's apartment to collect money for repair work and that's when Wright attacked the man.
"I've been involved in law enforcement over 20 years and this is probably of the most vicious attacks, premeditated attacks, we've seen in the history of the department here," said Allegheny Township Police Chief John Fontaine. "He repeatedly stunned him in the face with a hand-held stun gun device and pulled him to the ground and robbed him of $60."
Investigators said at first, the man didn't know who was attacking him because Wright hid his identity behind a Halloween mask.
"The actor was wearing a zombie-style Halloween mask at the time of the attack. It was flesh colored. It was a full-head, covered with a zombie style face, eyes cut out of it," Fontaine said.
A neighbor and friend of Wright's told Channel 11's Vince Sims that the victim had come to Wright's home a couple of times that night before the attack happened.
"He's saying he got beat up and robbed, and as far as I know what happened, they (Wright) was being harassed. He was just coming and beating on their door and wanting in," said Amanda Torres. "I've known him a long time and he is a good kid. He has had his share of troubles, everybody has. He's a good kid."
Police said Wright had a warrant out of his arrest on an unrelated drug charge out of New Kensington. Wright faces robbery and aggravated assault charges. He's currently in the Westmoreland County Detention Center.
