NORRIDGE, ILLINOIS — Police in northern Illinois pull a man from a burning building and the heroic rescue is captured on video.
A dash camera on a Norridge, Illinois police car was rolling as an officer pulls onto the scene of a house fire and find two fellow officers struggling to rescue a man inside the home.
As the officers try to pull the man out of the burning home, the officer pulls his police car closer to the building so the other officers had something to stand on.
One of the officers says the smoke was so thick he could barely see inside the home even with a flashlight.
The officer guides the man by voice commands then lifts him out of his wheelchair and pulls him through the window.
Fire officials say the victim could have been overcome by smoke and died within seconds.
Investigators say the fire started with a light blub exploded.
