COOLSPRING TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A teenager was arrested in Coolspring Township after a brief struggle occurred during a traffic stop Sunday, police say.
Police received a call about several individuals “hanging” from a Jeep while driving and the sound of mailboxes possibly being smashed.
State troopers located the vehicle and attempted to make a traffic stop. The vehicle pulled over at a residence on Latonka Drive.
The driver, Timothy Christopher Dunham, 19, got out of the vehicle and walked toward the troopers, ignoring all commands to stop.
During a brief struggle, a trooper and Dunham fell to the ground. The trooper suffered an apparent leg injury, according to officials.
A second trooper took Dunham into custody.
Police said the investigation revealed the involved vehicle had been running over garbage cans.
Dunham was arraigned and placed in Mercer County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bail.
