COLLIER TOWNSHIP, Pa.,None — Police said two teenagers who were pulled over for speeding in a school zone in Collier Township are facing several more charges after they lied to police.
The incident began along Thoms Run Road early Friday evening. Police said when they pulled the driver over, they found drugs in the car.
Cody Kinder, 19, and Shane Murphy, 18, told police they bought the drugs from someone who lived at a home on Ewing Road. After looking up the address, police learned that the person who lives there is on probation for a firearms violation.
Based on that information, police asked the SWAT team to serve a warrant on the house. A woman inside the home allowed officers to search the house. Police said they did not find any drugs in the home and the man they were looking for no longer lived there.
Investigators said the two men later admitted that he lied to police about purchasing the drugs at the home.
"We believe they just wanted to get someone else in trouble," said Collier Police Chief Thomas Devin.
The men are facing charges of drug possession, speeding in a school zone, making false reports to law enforcement and reckless endangerment.
