In dramatic video released by Michigan State Police, the crash all starts when a white Chevrolet car cuts in front of the semi.
The car then strikes the truck's cab, sending it out of control before it overturns and crashes into the freeway median wall.
The crash shut-down a section of the freeway for several hours.
The driver of that truck was the only person hurt and is recovering from minor injuries.
He says he it's hard to believe that he walked away from the terrifying crash. "The vehicle smashed me into the wall or into the steer tire. That was it. [The truck] started fish tailing and I was flopping around. I thought I was in a Transformers movie with the broken glass and the rubber and the burning... I was in shock for probably an hour. I was coherent-- I didn't ever close my eyes because I was just trying to make sure I would make it and the first thing I asked is did I hurt anybody?"
Police are still looking for the driver of the white Chevrolet sedan that they say drove off after causing the accident.
