PITTSBURGH — Four of seven schools whose start and end times were adjusted because of the closure of the Liberty Bridge will move back to normal start times, Pittsburgh Public Schools announced Friday.
Pittsburgh Allderdice High School, Pittsburgh Milliones 6-12, Pittsburgh Obama 6-12 and Pittsburgh Westinghouse 6-12 will return to normal times starting Monday. The district cited school locations, feeder patterns and the increased use of Port Authority bus passes as the reasons behind the decision.
Pittsburgh Carrick High School, Pittsburgh Brashear High School and Pittsburgh Science and Technology Academy 6-12 will remain at the adjusted 7:11 a.m. start time, which is 25 minutes earlier than the normal start time.
"We will continue to look for potential route adjustments in an effort to move schools back to their normal start times," Superintendent Anthony Hamlet said in a news release.
Families will receive communications via the district's parent notification system and in a letter from their schools alerting them to the time changes.
