NEW KENSINGTON, Pa. — A memorial in Westmoreland County that was inspired by a fallen police officer has been vandalized.
Part of the statue, featuring a police officer and his dog, on Center Avenue in New Kensington is missing.
Sometime this week, someone tore down the officer, leaving only a few pieces of the shoes behind.

The Paters Family told our news partners at TribLIVE.com, the statue was dedicated to all police officers, but the shooting death of Officer Brian Shaw was the main reason it was created.
The New Kensington officer was killed in the line of duty two years ago.
Police are looking at surveillance video to see if it captured the vandals.
