2 people being monitored for coronavirus in West Virginia

OHIO COUNTY, W.Va. — Two people in West Virginia are being monitored for coronavirus after they recently returned from China, according to the Wheeling-Ohio County Health Department.

Both people, neither of whom have symptoms, are under self-quarantine at their homes in Ohio County, which is about one hour from Pittsburgh, officials said. They are being monitored as a precaution.

Pennsylvania’s risk for coronavirus is low, according to state health officials, who are in communication with the CDC and are prepared to respond in the event a patient tests positive.

Nationwide, 11 cases of coronavirus have been confirmed.

The CDC is working to expand testing to allow doctors across the country to quickly diagnose cases.
