Armstrong Co. dealing with ‘HIGH’ level for community spread of COVID-19

Armstrong County is dealing with a high level of community spread of COVID-19, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

According to the COVID-19 tracker on cdc.gov, that means that there has been 100 or more cases of the virus per 100,000 people or a positivity rate of 10% or higher.

That also means cases have risen to the level where the CDC recommends wearing masks indoors, despite a person’s vaccination status.

Lawrence County was added to the substantial spread list last week.

Before the data was updated over the noon hour Sunday, Beaver County was also listed as having substantial spread. That has since decreased to moderate, the same as counties like Allegheny in southwestern Pennsylvania.
