BEAVER COUNTY, Pa. — Carolyn Jobe said their five mules and two horses are being intentionally targeted by someone.
“It’s a shame that its happening and I don’t understand how anybody can do it or why anyone would do that,” Jobe said.
Their animals are kept at a farm along Harkins Mill Road in Rochester. Jobe said that over the past few years, vandals have damaged fences, cut locks, destroyed signs and now their animals are getting hurt.
Last week, they found more than 50 golf balls in their field and shotgun shells which they believe contained BB’s.
“We noticed the mules had abscesses on them. The cops went over them with a metal detector and every one had metal on them so we are waiting to get x-rays once we save up the money for it,” Jobe said.
New Sewickley Township Police are handling the investigation. Jobe said they put cameras up to help catch whoever is doing this.
