BUTLER, Pa. — There’s nothing quite like popping the cap off an ice-cold bottle of your favorite beer, but if you prefer bottles to cans, you might be up a creek.
A beer distributor in Butler told Channel 11 his business is having a tough time getting shipments of popular domestic brews in the bottle.
“My rep told me we may be out of Coors Light for the rest of the year. So Rolling Rock bottles I haven’t had in over a month,” said Bobby Loflin with Bill’s Beer Barn.
Loflin said there are shortages of materials used to make the glass bottles and shipping issues. Other brands being impacted include Budweiser and Bud Light.
Loflin said customers are now having to choose between something else or cans.
“We have aluminum bottles with is like a bottle. It’s a 16 oz bottle with a twist off cap so we try to push them in that direction,” he said.
Loflin said the shortages and issues could last through the end of the year.
