PITTSBURGH — Children were found living in what police described as a "house of filth" in Pittsburgh.
The children's mother and her boyfriend are in jail.
The criminal complaint detailed what investigators called dangerous and deplorable living conditions where a 4-year-old and a 5-year-old were staying.
Investigators were called to the home on Marland Street on Tuesday after a neighbor reported smelling animal feces.

Investigators found six overgrown and filthy dogs living there.
According to the criminal complaint, the children's mother, Jennifer Badamo, told investigators the house was “really bad.”
Investigators said the living room, dining room and kitchen were covered with feces and rotting food.
They also said the two children were sleeping amid clutter and junk.
Badamo said there were no working toilets and sometimes she took the children to neighbors’ houses to shower.
The children were taken into custody by Children’s Services.
