County offers $100 bonus for employees who get COVID-19 vaccine

ALLEGHENY COUNTY — Allegheny County is giving employees a $100 bonus to those who get the COVID-19 vaccine.

County spokesperson Amie Downs said there are about 7,000 employees and to date 895 employees have applied for the bonus, with the vast majority of these employees being health care workers or front line workers providing other services that may put them at risk of COVID because of interactions with a COVID-positive population.

“I want to be very clear here that this doesn’t mean they get some special privilege or opportunity,” she said. “When it’s their turn, we’re encouraging them to get vaccinated and as an incentive to do so, they can receive a $100 bonus for showing proof of vaccination.”
