PITTSBURGH — An elderly woman was left with a sore and swollen hand after a man grabbed her wrist almost causing her to fall to the ground.
Police said she was holding $161 when she was grabbed.
Investigators told Channel 11 she was boarding the bus at East Carson and 9th streets while holding the cash, and the man behind her tried to take it.
That’s when the woman started screaming for police and the man took off running.

Another bus rider told detectives the direction he ran and they eventually found him.
Police say his name is Marlon Jennings and he admitted that "he tried to steal [her] money because at the time he believed she stole it from her earlier. But after the incident, he realized he was still in possession of his money."
Lifelong South Side resident Helen Snyder told Channel 11 she can’t believe this happened on this side of East Carson.
“This is the quiet end of East Carson and this sort of thing doesn't happen down this way,” Snyder said.
Marlon is facing a number of charges and is being held in the Allegheny County Jail.
