PITTSBURGH — Thirty-four expectant military mothers and fathers were surprised Saturday with a baby shower at the 171st Air Refueling Wing.
The educational baby shower was thrown by the March of Dimes, Philips, the Pennsylvania Masons and Cigna. The mothers-to-be received gift boxes filled with baby supplies, as well as pregnancy and newborn health information.
The shower was part of the March of Dimes’ Mission: Healthy Baby program, which provides military families with health information and a support network of peers, volunteers and health experts.
Since 2009, the March of Dimes has showered nearly 900 military mothers at bases across the country.
