Former Pa. Supreme Court justice reprimanded for role in Jerry Sandusky case

PITTSBURGH — A former state Supreme Court justice was reprimanded for her involvement in the Jerry Sandusky case.

Cynthia Baldwin violated ethics rules by testifying before a secret grand jury on behalf of Penn State University officials, the Judicial Disciplinary Board said.

Target 11′s Rick Earle met with Baldwin, who is adamant she did not break any rules.

“It’s the worst professional day of my life and no, I didn’t deserve it,” Baldwin said.

Baldwin’s actions cost the prosecution part of its case, the board said, but she denies the accusation.

“I’m a strong believer in the rule of law. I did what the courts said I had to do,” she said.

Baldwin claims she has proof she was targeted with court documents spelling out racial comments other officials made about her. The administrative office of courts denied the allegations.
