NORTH HUNTINGDON, Pa. — Live wires fell on a school bus along Caruthers Lane in North Huntingdon.
An accident involving a box truck caused the wires to fall.
The Norwin School District released the following statement about the situation:
“The bus, with one student on it, had been parked and had been awaiting the arrival of the power company to deactivate live wires that fell on the bus during an afternoon route. There were no injuries, a situation for which district officials are grateful. Parents had been notified of the situation. The district would like to thank the the bus driver, bus monitor, student, and utility companies for their response to this situation,” the district said.
All of the people on the bus waited on board for the power company to shut off the wires.
Emergency officials and witnesses said that the truck crashed into the pole, pulled it down and continued driving.
