CENTER TWP., Pa. — A Homer City man has been sentenced to prison time for drugs and gun possession charges after police found him with drugs and a loaded pistol in a car in Center Township, Indiana County.
Brian Scott Davenport was charged with felony and misdemeanor drug and gun charges after the incident at a business in the 8900 block of Route 286 Highway West.
Troopers responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot, with a man and woman sleeping inside. The driver was identified as Davenport, who was found to be wanted by the Blairsville Police Department for fleeing or attempting to elude police officers and three summary violations for an incident that occurred on Oct. 14.

Davenport was found to be in possession of a small plastic baggie containing suspected crystal methamphetamine and approximately $2,409 in cash, according to court documents. He was then taken into custody.
The female occupant was identified and released pending further investigation.
A search of the vehicle found suspected opioids and methamphetamine, pills, a bulk amount of cash, four cell phones, and a brown and silver SCCY 9mm pistol with a magazine containing six rounds, according to court documents. Also seized from the vehicle were various items of drug paraphernalia including a scale, magnetic containers, a straw with residue, a glass smoking device, syringes and a bulk number of unused stamp bags and plastic baggies.
Davenport plead guilty in three cases, two investigated by Pennsylvania State Police and one investigated by Blairsville Borough police, to the following charges:
- Possession of a controlled substance, 19.06 grams of fentanyl, with the intent to deliver, an ungraded felony
- Possession of a controlled substance, 91.4 grams of cocaine, with the intent to deliver, an ungraded felony
- Possession of a Firearm Prohibited, a felony of the second degree
- Fleeing or attempting to elude police, a second-degree misdemeanor
- Driving on a suspended license, a summary offense
Davenport was sentenced to serve up to 13 years in a state correctional institute and will serve no less than six years, Indiana County District Attorney Robert Manzi Jr. said.
“This defendant made the choice to prey on individuals suffering from substance use disorder for his own financial gain. The only way to stop for profit drug dealers from selling poison in our community is to incarcerate them for lengthy periods” said Manzi. “I want to thank the Pennsylvania State Police and Blairsville Borough police for their continued efforts to help keep us safe. We can be sure that for the next 6 to 13 years, this defendant will not be selling poison in Indiana County.”
