ASPINWALL, Pa. — UPDATE 1:15 p.m.
The U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs is proposing the termination of an employee arrested Thursday on multiple counts of possession of child pornography.
Erik Bietz, 28, was arrested at the hospital.
"This behavior is not in line with the norms and values of the VA, and as a result the employee has been suspended from all duties. VA has initiated the process for removal from employment," VA press secretary Curt Cashour said. "Secretary (David) Shulkin has made clear that VA will hold employees accountable when they fail to live up to the high standards taxpayers expect from us. And that's exactly what we're doing in this case.

A Pittsburgh man was arrested at the VA Hospital, accused of having child pornography images on his computer.
Erik Bietz, 28, is a former Marine who was currently working at the VA Hospital in Aspinwall when officers arrested him on 20 felony counts of child pornography.
Police paperwork says investigators found the images and videos on Bietz's computer inside his Sheraden home on Faust Street.
No one was home when Channel 11 knocked on the door Friday.
A neighbor told our reporter off-camera that she didn't know anyone was even living there.
An FBI Investigator got a cybertip back in February from an internet provider that Bietz was allegedly viewing child pornography.
He is being held in the Allegheny County Jail.
Channel 11 contacted the VA Hospital and a spokesperson said they are working on a statement, but have not yet sent it to us.
