Investigators said Gordon briefly stopped and then took off after “nearly striking an officer” with his Chrysler Sebring.
The high-speed chase went through Parks Township, Leechburg and then into Allegheny Township.
Police said Gordon began driving through residential yards and then merged onto Route 356.
According to police, Gordon eventually spun out and lost control of his vehicle, crashing into another car at the intersection of Route 356 and Hyde Park Road. The passengers in both vehicles suffered minor injuries.
Gordon then took off on foot into a wooded area and was soon taken into custody. Investigators said Gordon discarded a “large quantity of heroin” after leaving his car.
He is facing multiple charges, including fleeing and eluding, aggravated assault against a police officer, DUI, possession with intent to deliver heroin, and reckless endangerment.
He is being held at the Armstrong County Jail awaiting arraignment on those charges.
