PITTSBURGH — A man turned himself in to police Monday for a deadly pedestrian accident in March near Heinz Hall, authorities said.
Dale Dern, 61, of Bulger, is charged with driving under the influence, aggravated assault by vehicle, aggravated assault while DUI, involuntary manslaughter and homicide by vehicle.

Police said Dern was driving a cab about 8:30 p.m. on March 17 when it jumped a curb on Liberty Avenue, striking two men, ages 55 and 27, on the sidewalk. The 55-year-old man, Jaafar Bey, was killed.
